Quand Didou était ici.../ When Sandy was here...

Voici presque deux semaines maintenant que ma Didou nous a lâchement abandonnés pour retourner en France. En tout, elle aura passé neuf semaines avec nous. Cela ne signifie pas que je n'ai pas travaillé pendant tout ce temps! J'ai pris quelques jours par-ci par-là et une vraie semaine de vacances pour aller au sud de Perth et lui montrer les endroits que Shane et moi adorons.

Voici donc quelques photos, surtout prises dans le sud. Certains endroits vous seront sûrement familiers, puisque j'ai déjà mis ici des photos. Mais j'ai choisi principalement des photos d'endroits où Shane et moi n'étions jamais allés.

Attention, il y a beaucoup de photos! (bah oui, ça fait plus d'un mois que je n'ai pas posté, faut bien se faire pardonner..!)

It's almost been two weeks since Sandy left us with no regrets and went back to France. She's spent nine weeks here with us. It doesn't mean that I stopped working for all this time! (I wish I could have!) I took a few days off every now and then and a full week off to go down south (of Perth) to show her the places that Shane and me like alot.

So here are a few photos, mainly taken down south. You might be familiar with some of the places since I put photos of them previously. But I mainly chose photos of places Shane and me had never been to

Beware, there are lots of photos (well, it took me more than one month to put somthing on the blog again, so I have to make up for it..!)

Tout d'abord, une aprèm très relaxante à la plage. Nous l'avons passée à dessiner et lire (et rechercher de jolis coquillages!)./ So let's start with a very relaxing afternoon at the beach that we spent drawing and reading (and looking for nice shells!).

Et maintenant, partons en vacances dans le sud. Beaucoup de vert (au risque de me répéter), d'eau, de bonne nourriture (c'est la région gastronomique de Perth). Notre hébergement était génial. Nous avons passé une semaine dans un appartement avec deux chambres dans un complexe hôtelier. Nous n'avons rien payé, grâce un système d'échange et d'abonnement annuel qui s'appelle Time Share. Par curiosité, j'ai voulu voir les prix dans le catalogue qui était à notre disposition dans le salon...4800 $ pour la semaine où nous y étions! (divisez par deux pour avoir le prix en €). Ai-je mentionné la plage à une minute à pieds?! C' était vraiment...le pied!/ And now let's go on holidays down south. Alot of greenery (I think I've mentioned that before...), of water and good food (it's Perth gourmet region). Our accomodation was stunning! We spent the week in a kind of hotel complex. In a two bedroom apartment. We didn't have to pay anything thanks to a system of exchange and yearly subscription which is called Time Share. Out of curiosity, I had a look at the prices for the week we stayed there (there was a magazine on the coffee table). 4800 AUD for that week! Did I mention the beach that was one minute away on foot..?

La jetée de Busselton. Elle fait deux kilomètres de long. C'est la jetée la plus longue de l'hémisphère sud. Quand nous y sommes allés, elle était en travaux et donc fermée. Mais de toutes façons, d'ordinaire elle est payante alors bon.../ Busselton jetty is two kilometre long. It's the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere. Works were being done when we went there so it was closed. But you usually have to pay to get onto it anyway...pff!

Puis nous sommes retournés à Ellensbrook, parce que Shane et moi (surtout moi en fait) avions adoré./ Then we went back to Ellensbrook because Shane and me (mostly me) loved it.

Il faut que je vous dise que pendant toute cette semaine, nous avons désespérément essayé d'apercevoir des baleines, car c'était (et c'est toujours) la saison de migration vers le nord. On a été déçus et frustrés, mais en contrepartie, on a vu des phoques! Oui oui!! Voici des photos, mais vous allez devoir cliquer pour agrandir les photos, car elles ont été prises de loin...cherchez les taches noires au pied du rocher./ I have to tell you that during that week we desperately tried to look for whales since that was (and it still is) the season when they migrate north. We've been disappointed and frustrated. However we saw seals! Yes, seals! Here are some photos but you'll have to click on them to zoom in. They were taken from far away and I was quite surprised and excited so they're a bit blurry. Look for black spots at the bottom of the rocks.

Alors, vous les voyez?! J'en étais toute retournée!/ So, can you see them? I was so astonished!

Puis nous sommes aussi retournés au Tree Top Walk, c'est la promenade au-dessus de la cîme des arbres, dans la Vallée des Géants./ Then we went back to the Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants.

Et une fois au sol.../ And once on the ground...

Nous sommes aussi retournés à Elephant Rocks que nous adorons./ We also went back to Elephant Rocks. That's an area we're very fond of.

Nous sommes aussi allés visiter une grotte, mais pas la même que la dernière fois. Celle-ci s'appelle Lake Cave. 350 marches sont nécéssaires pour y descendre! La grotte doit son nom à la source qui y...bah prend sa source...hum./ We also went to visit a cave but not the same than the last one we visited. This one is called Lake Cave. We went down 350 steps to get to the entrance of the cave! Its name comes from the fact that there's a spring starting in there.

Ce que vous pouvez voir sur la photo de droite est en fait une sorte de stalagmite d'environ 5 tonnes appelée la Table Suspendue. Elle est suspendue à environ 50-60 cm au dessus de l'eau. C'est vraiment impressionnant!/ What you can see on the right handside photo is actually a kind of stalagmite which weighs about 5 tons. It is called the Suspended Table. It is hanging about 50-60 centimetres above the water. It is very impressive!

Certaines lumières ont été éteintes pendant quelques minutes, pour jouer avec les reflets./ Some lights were turned off to enjoy the reflection on the water.

Et voici quelques photos prises au fil de balades./ And here are photos we took as we were wandering around.

Photo 2: un truc bizarre trouvé sur la plage. C'était tout mou, comme une sorte de moquette! Et assez grand, regardez par rapport au stylo. Selon Shane: "c'est sûrement du corail". Mystère.../ On the second photo: something very weird looking that we found on the beach. It was very soft; a bit like carpet! And quite big actually. Look at the size compared to the pen. According to Shane, 'it's probably coral'.

Un aperçu rapide d'un kangourou que nous avons surpris à Ellensbrook. On ne le voit pas ici, mais il était (et deux autres) de l'espèce des grands kangourous. Vous savez, ceux qu'on voit dans les dessins animés avec des gants de boxe! Et bien ceux-ci, que j'apercevais pour la première fois sont au moins aussi grands qu'un homme! C'était très excitant de les voir. Ils sont assez rares en fait./ A quick look at a kangaroo that we startled in Ellensbrook. You can't really tell on the photo, but it ('they' actually, as there was three of them!) was one of those big kangaroos. You know, the ones you see in cartoons, with boxing gloves! Well, those ones were at least as tall as a man! It was very exciting to see them. They're quite rare and I never saw any before.

Ah ah, c'est quoi ça, hein? Eh bien c'est un wombat, animal australien. Nous sommes allés au zoo avec Didou. Je n'aime pas vraiment les zoos. Mais ça nous a donné l'occasion de voir certains animaux que l'on ne pourrait pas voir en liberté. Comme ce wombat. J'en avais vu deux dans un parc naturel (en "cage") une fois, mais fidèles aux animaux australiens semble-t'il, ils dormaient (bah oui, la chaleur ça assomme!). Celui-ci était totalement réveillé! Ces gros patauds mesurent environ 50 cm de haut, et ils sont bien gras! Leur museau n'est pas très mignon, mais j'aime leurs courbes, héhé!/ So, what is that? Well, it's a wombat, an australian animal. We went to the zoo with Sandy. I don't like zoos. But going there gave us the opportunity to see animals that we couldn't see in the wild. Like this wombat. I saw two last year in a natural park (in a sort of cage). But like most australian animals it seems, they were sleeping (well, I guess heat makes them sleepy!). This one was fully awake! They're quite fat and are about 50 centimetres high (if not more. Their muzzle isn't really nice but they're so fat that they look cute!

Et avant d'aller me coucher (ça fait littéralement quatre heures que j'ai commencé à charger ces photos!!!) je vous laisse avec une dernière image pour faire des bisous à ma Didou qui me manque. / And before I go to sleep (I've been spending four hours downloading those photos!!!) I'll show you this last picture, to say goodbye and send kisses to my Didou (Sandy's nickname).
